Job summary
The Health Informatics Business Partner provides embedded analytical, data, and insight support to a designated hospital site, ensuring that operational, clinical, and strategic decisions are grounded in highquality information. The role strengthens the connection between central informatics functions and local site leadership, enabling the hospital to deliver safe, efficient, and patientcentred care.
This is a site-based role. The postholder will be specifically aligned to either Good Hope Hospital, Heartlands Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, or Solihull Hospital (one post for each site) and will work from their allocated site to provide a visible and responsive informatics presence. Candidates are invited to indicate their preferred hospital site at point of application.
Main duties of the job
As a Health Informatics Business Partner, you will provide dedicated, site-based analytical, data and insight support to senior hospital leaders.
Your day to day work will involve working closely with clinical, operational and transformation colleagues, you will understand their needs and provide analytical support that drives service improvement, strengthens performance management and contributes to better patient outcomes.
We are looking for an experienced analytical professional with strong SQL and data analysis skills and experience of working with large, complex datasets and reporting tools including Power BI. You will be an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and explain complex information clearly to non-technical audiences.
The ideal candidate will be analytical, self motivated, detail focused, with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritise, work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.

Essential
- *Minimum grade C in GCSE English and Maths.
- *Master’s degree in scientific, or mathematical, or information technology discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- *Evidence of further professional development.
Desirable
- *Post Graduate qualification or equivalent knowledge and skills in a relevant discipline.
Experience
Essential
- *Significant previous experience working in an analytical role.
- *Experience with database software and applications
- *Familiarity with database concepts
- *Experience of web related technologies and the development of web-based reports.
- *Experience of producing automated reports.
- *Knowledge of dimensional data modelling methodologies & relational database design.
- *Experience in providing user support.
- *Experience of and confidence in interacting with senior members of an organisation.
- *Significant experience in SQL, handling, analysing, and manipulating large, complex datasets.
- *Significant experience of analysing and interpreting complex information and presenting it in a simplified manner.
- *Significant experience of generating reports using tools such as Power BI/Spotfire/SSRS.
- *Experience in querying / designing Dimensional Modelled Databases
- *Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- *Experience in management of others’ workloads, including the delegation of jobs.
- *Experience in researching user needs and using this to inform the design of products.
- *Understanding of NHS Healthcare Service.
