Main duties of the job
You will manage a specialist caseload across the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecologyservice, including the Children and Young People’s FGC/M service, Complex CongenitalGynaecology and Differences of Sex Development. The patient group includes children,young people and adults, and your role will include supporting timely access to treatment,monitoring progress and maintaining clear communication with patients, families andcolleagues.
You will act as a key point of contact for patients and families, working closely with themultidisciplinary team to support assessment, treatment planning, continuity of care andcommunication across services.
You will lead specialist vaginal dilatation therapy for patients with vaginalagenesis and those requiring post-operative dilatation. You will also contribute tothe general adolescent gynaecology service, providing care for adolescents withmenstrual dysfunction with consultant support.
You will provide sensitive, age-appropriate information and emotional support topatients and families. You will advocate for patients, promote informed decision-making and ensure that safeguarding needs are recognised and appropriatelyaddressed.
In addition, you will contribute to service improvement initiatives, support clinicalgovernance requirements, and maintain accurate documentation.Strong organisational skills, clinical judgement, and the ability to prioritiseeffectively are essential to succeed in this role.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Adult or Paediatric Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Relevant post-registration qualification and/or demonstrable relevant clinical experience that meets the requirements of the role.
- Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience (Master’s level desirable)
- Evidence of continued professional development in paediatric/adolescent health or gynaecology
