We are recruiting a Champion with compassionate and a transformative approach to perinatal mental health across the 0-19 Public Health Family Health Service, ensuring women, babies, and families receive the support they need to thrive. To Drive the early recognition of attachment and parent-infant relationship challenges, helping families access the right specialist support at the right time.

To build strong partnerships with IAPT services, health visitors, and multi-agency colleagues to create seamless pathways that enhance outcomes for families. Inspire confidence and capability across the workforce through expert consultation, reflective supervision, and engaging training in perinatal mental health.

Main duties of the job

In collaboration with SMABS and IAPT

o Support health visiting teams to access appropriate care pathwayso Support use of the Ready to Relate intervention implementation with healthvisiting teamso To train the 0-5 workforce in early recognition and basic interventionsrelated to suboptimal perinatal mental healtho Support the training of health visiting teams to embrace new ways ofworking using digital platformso To develop and provide a consultation model to support health visitingteams in their perinatal mental health work.o Identify what prevalence data is required to be collatedo Support the health visiting teams to collect prevalence data and evidenceimpacto To develop the interface between health visiting services, IAPT andSMABS.o To engage with the Perinatal mental health steering group to identifyopportunities for development across the district.o Contribute to teaching and training on issues related to perinatal mentalhealth, parent-infant relationship, within 0-19 services.o Development work; stakeholder engagement; integration to amultidisciplinary team; leadership of quality improvement and best practice.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • One or more of the qualifications listed: o Registered General Nurse o Registered Nurse -Mental Health o Registered Midwife o SCPHN

Desirable

  • Masters/ Post graduate qualification in perinatal mental health
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Doctorate Level 6-year ACP accredited training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy which includes a minimum of 4 years’ full-time clinical training and one’s own intensive analysis. Full member of Association of Child Psychotherapists

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of working with perinatal difficulties and parent infant work
  • Experience of working in perinatal mental health/mental health services
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other professionals within the health economy and from other organisations.
