Job summary

Are you an experienced Children’s Nurse ready to lead, inspire, and shape the future of children’s community nursing? South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Lead Nurse to join our CCN team to support children with complex needs in North & South Warwickshire and Rugby.

The post holder will have overall responsibility for the operational and clinical management of the Community Children’s Nursing Team, within the Family Health speciality throughout South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust (SWFT)

Working across this area this service offers a diverse caseload across urban and rural settings. You’ll work with a well-established team and benefit from strong community links.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will display excellent leadership skills, ensuring that the CCNT delivers high quality patient experience, and evidence-based care for children and young people (CYP). The post holder will be able to make informed decisions within the speciality and their scope of professional practice, involving the CYP/Parents/families to ensure agreed standards, targets and objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

Essential

  • RNC/RSCN
  • Relevant Degree level of study or equivalent experience
  • Diploma in management or relevant experience
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Leadership qualification

Desirable

  • MSc or working towards

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience at Band 7 or above
  • Paediatric/community clinical experience
  • Evidence of organisational and leadership skills
  • Experience of change management and problem solving
  • Working across organisational boundaries

  • Experience of nurse leadership and management of operational experience
  • Experience of Budget management
