An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high calibre, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Clinical Effectiveness Team as a Band 5 Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator (Clinical Audit and NCEPOD).

The Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator will assist the Clinical Effectiveness Coordinator in the implementation, promotion, delivery, and monitoring of the clinical effectiveness portfolio including clinical audit and the identification of learning from Trust level and national clinical audits across University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will facilitate clinical audit projects through all aspects of the clinical audit cycle including project design, data collection, analysis, report preparation, dissemination and communication of clinical audit findings.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre having proven experience of using Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. The post holder will be responsible for critically reviewing clinical audit methodologies and analysing clinical audit data to support healthcare professionals to interpret the findings used to inform changes to clinical practice.

Excellent written and communication skills are required in this role. The successful person will be liaising and negotiating with healthcare professionals at all levels, to develop and support them to implement clinical audit action plans.

We are looking for candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills, dedication and the ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy. An understanding of the NHS is desirable, and you will need to show past experience of working with data. You will need to be highly organised, to successfully manage your workload in this busy and dynamic environment.

This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in managing a group of clinical audit projects and work with clinicians measuring the effectiveness of clinical practice against standards.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oDegree or equivalent working experience.

Desirable

  • oEvidence of formal IT training.

Experience

Essential

  • oWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications e.g., Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. oExperience of producing formal written reports. oExperience of managing multiple projects / assignments. oExperience of producing and providing oral presentations. oExperience of undertaking data analysis.

Desirable

  • oPrevious NHS experience. oExperience of training others. oExperience of developing / monitoring action plans. oExperience of undertaking o/ facilitating the undertaking of clinical audit. oExperience of developing clinical guidelines.

Knowledge

Essential

  • oAn understanding of recent changes in the NHS, particularly in areas associated with quality improvement. oKnowledge of information governance within the NHS. oAn understanding of the concept of quality evaluation and other quality initiatives in the NHS

Desirable

  • oKnowledge of National Clinical Guidelines e.g., NICE, Royal Colleges. oKnowledge of the development of clinical guidelines. oUnderstanding of the national agenda on Learning from Deaths and clinical effectiveness including clinical audit.
