Job summary

The States of Guernsey are looking for a Occupational Health Nurse Advisor.As part of the States of Guernsey Occupational Health service, the post holder is responsiblefor providing a range of clinical activities, including advice, guidance, assessment, evaluationand surveillance.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to be responsible for providing a range of clinical activities, including advice, guidance, assessment, evaluation and surveillance. The post holder will be expected to have contemporary, evidence-informed knowledge relating to Occupational Health in order to fulfil the role to the highest standards. Relationship building, and the ability to form and maintain effective relationships with service users (employees); managers; HR colleagues and the OH team are essential for the role. Under the leadership of the Head of Occupational Health, the Occupational Health Nurse Advisor will also conduct research and evaluation which informs the wider wellbeing agenda for the employer, and which contributes to the continuous improvement of the Occupational Health service.

  • KEY CRITERIA
  • Essential (minimum qualifications; skills and experience)
  • 1. NMC Registration First Level Graduate Registered Nurse.
  • 2. NMC Registration – Part 3 Public Health Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner registration.
  • 3. Evidence of relevant CPD relevant to Occupational Health practice.
  • 4. Proven track record of working effectively as a Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner.
  • 5. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to present complex information to a range of stakeholders; accuracy in report writing and the ability to analyse, evaluate and synthesise data to inform such communications.
  • 6. Competent use of electronic clinical record systems, with an understanding of data quality, confidentiality and digital workflows; willingness to develop proficiency in Civica OPAS G2.
