Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experience PBI developer.

This is a new role that will work across both Barnet, Enfield and Haringey (BEH) and Camden and Islington (CandI) mental health trusts and the postholder support the accelerated expansion of the Partnership’s business intelligence platform and advanced analytical capability to deliver the aims of the Partnership’s Digital Strategic Plan.

The postholder be responsible to lead on the development of information systems and data resources across our technical environment. The role will involve the detailed analysis and understanding of complex technical and business requirements across multiple services within the Trust to deliver high quality products and facilitate their delivery into business-as-usual operation.

Responsible to carry out regular reviews of the new Microsoft Azure platform and both Trusts legacy SQL Server data warehouse setup to develop and maintain a common data architecture asset including framework, principle, guideline and template to ensure the data architecture is kept up to date in line with the business requirements. Maintaining and evolving the Trust’s data warehouse and business intelligence platform to support the provision of central information, performance and intelligence, with specific focus on the development of a modern data platform that will underpin accelerated modernisation of the trust’s reporting and analytical capability.

Main duties of the job

  • To be the key link with the business Intelligence team, overseeing the management of the delivery of the datasets to support the BI team on operational and reporting function, with timed release schedules. Ensuring data is robust, available and with well-designed data schemas to ensuring resilience and future proofing.
  • Analyse, interpret and resolve highly complex statistical and contractual problems where there is no precedent and where other leading opinions may conflict.
  • Responsible and take accountability for projects, define and delegate work to ensure the team to work together effectively producing high-quality useful functionality
  • Develops and delivers formal, complex statistical presentations to large groups and senior stakeholders

Person Specification

Education & Qualification

Essential

  • Educated to Master’s level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in an informatics/healthcare data function. In-depth specialist knowledge of information analysis and the use of information across the NHS acquired through a degree or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continued professional development and Microsoft Certified Azure & Data fundamentals

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure technologies
  • Extensive experience of performing complex information analysis to support decision making
  • Knowledge and experience in Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Devops and Git.
  • Strong experience of effectively liaising with stakeholders

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Experience of Azure and Power BI development
  • Experience of developing in a cloud-based environment
  • Skilled in writing code in Python and/or R
  • Advanced programming skills – including SQL Server for querying databases and extracting information.
