Job Summary

We are seeking two highly motivated and enthusiastic developers to work within the Software Development Team. We are looking for self-starting individuals with the ability to deal with accelerated learning and build high quality software within an agile environment.

As members of the dynamic and innovative Digital, Data & Technology Department, you will work with colleagues in the Software Development Team supporting the delivery of projects that form part of the digital platform, as well as integration projects, to allow data to be shared between national, Health Board wide and departmental systems.

The role will allow you to build on your current skills and experience and provide you with opportunities for personal and professional development. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders from varying professions across the health board. Main duties of the job

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Specialist knowledge of:

  • At least one modern object-oriented programming language
  • SOLID principles, Software design patterns and development best practices
  • Database query languages
  • Software development life cycle
  • Source control

Knowledge of the following would be advantageous :

  • Application development using C# within the .NET framework using .Net Core, ASP.Net Web API and MVC
  • Windows Service development
  • TSQL and application development using Microsoft SQL Server
  • HL7 or FHIR messaging standards
  • Visual Studio 2022 or Visual Studio Code
  • Azure DevOps / Git
  • Unit and Integration testing
  • Applicable standards and frameworks
  • Operating systems e.g. Windows PC, mobile and server
  • Experience in the use of Agile methodologies and iterative development
  • Resolving complex service issues and ability to escalate when required to senior members of the team
  • A knowledge of the service delivery needs of ABUHB
  • Have an understanding of service management functions and processes
  • Creation and maintenance of Software Development documentation
