The Estates Office within the Division of Infrastructure are looking to recruit an Shift Engineer.
Working within a busy Estates function, based predominately at the Dewsbury and District Hospital site, you will join an already established successful team.
To provide a comprehensive multi-trade maintenance service to all Healthcare Properties, Services, Plant, and Non-Medical Equipment.
The key role of the Shift Team will be to respond to all emergency situations and serious incidents that occur within a designated time frame and to provide an effective communication link to Estates Department and other relevant on-call managers to ensure appropriate responses to these events are provided in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. Out of hours, the Shift Engineer will be the first contact for the Trust staff in relation to emergencies or advice. They will assess the situation and act appropriately.
This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week, there will be various shift patterns to include the following hours;
22.00pm – 08.00am
14.00pm – 22.00pm
08.00am – 16.00pm
This will include some weekends and bank holiday working.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of a team of five Shift Engineers under the direction of the Estates Management Team for providing a comprehensive 24 hours, 7-day maintenance cover to all retained Trust buildings and any other SLAs, including All SWYMHT Buildings on retained sites for out of normal hours emergencies.
The Shift Engineer will undertake all work in compliance with relevant regulatory and advisory frameworks, Trust policies and the Estates Departments ISO9002 Quality Manual.
Assist in the formulation of Trust Policies in relation to out of hours working.
To undertake the role of HTM Competent Person and/or Authorised Person role in designated areas.
