Job Summary

To help support the data collection processes for Children and Young Peoples IAPT (CYP-IAPT) within a multi-disciplinary CAMHS service. To assist in clinically related administration, completion of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work. There will also be opportunities to undertake clinical work under supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist and support the psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Psychology graduate who is keen to gain experience in order to progress towards applied training in clinical psychology. The post is focused uponsupporting our data collection processes for Children and Young Peoples IAPT (CYP-IAPT), including clinical outcome monitoring and service -user satisfaction.The role involves inputting data into data bases, producing data reports and training staff in outcome measures. Having good IT skills and knowledge of Access,Excel databases and SPSS would be an advantage.Excellent communication skills are necessary to be able to liaise and support clinical staff in routine outcome measures, and an interest in working with children and young people is essential. The post will be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist.Although the primary task in this role is to support data collection there will be opportunities to undertake clinical work under supervision.

Person Specification

Qualification

Essential

  • Has an undergraduate degree in psychology with Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • This degree is either a 2(i) or a 2(ii) with a further postgraduate degree (MA, MSC, PhD etc)

Desirable

  • 1st class psychology degree
  • Postgraduate degree (not already counted in criteria above)
  • Other relevant work based training (other than mandatory training)

Experience

Essential

  • Total years’ experience as an assistant psychologist and/or research assistant is less than 5 years.(Yes (less than 5 years) = 1 No (5 years or more) = 0
