Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistants who want to advance their careers in healthcare by joining our apprenticeship program.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care by assisting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will be essential in ensuring that all medication administration processes are carried out accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accuracy in dosages and formulations.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage and side effects.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medication history and allergies, to support safe medication administration.
- Manage inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring that stock is replenished as needed.
- Prepare prescriptions for delivery or collection, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the training of new staff members and pharmacy interns as required.
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy workspace to maintain a professional environment.
Experience
- Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles, with a focus on safety and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with medication administration processes is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
