As home to the largest Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Principal Treatment Centre in the North, we provide innovative, compassionate care to over 350 young people across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings.As a valued member of our forward-thinking and dedicated TYA team, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the cancer journey for young people, before, during, and beyond treatment. We actively encourage curiosity, professional growth, and innovation, empowering you to explore every dimension of TYA cancer care while making a lasting impact on patient experience and outcomes.We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) who is driven to deliver exceptional care and continuously improve services. You will bring substantial experience in medical and/or oncology settings, alongside an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.The post holder will work across the inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory setting as required. The role may in the future incorporate Weekends and Bank Holidays working.

Main duties of the job

o Provide clinical assessment and support to the care and treatment of a diverse caseload of patients requiring oncology/haematology input and transplant.o Demonstrate a highly specialist knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and management of patients with oncological/haematological malignancies and those requiring transplant.o Demonstrate a high level of specialist knowledge and skills in the acute care and management of patients receiving SACT.o Provide medical support to the inpatient, day unit and ambulatory care units at The Christie Foundation Trust.o Request investigations, procedures and make appropriate referrals maintaining relevant clinical records.o Non-Medical prescribing is fundamental in supporting this role.o Clinical examination skills are essential for this role.o Provide clinical expertise for developing and enhancing the TYA oncology, haematology and transplant service.o Work alongside the medical, AHP and nursing teams, maintaining good communication and collaboration between the various multidisciplinary teams.o To be a highly visible and approachable role model, ensuring that best practice is disseminated throughout the clinical areas.o Demonstrate a high commitment to the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice which includes Clinical practice, Education, Leadership and Management, and Research.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered professional, (e.g., NMC/HCPC)
  • Educated to MSc Degree Level 7 in advanced practice or equivalent, with NHSE Digital Staff badge demonstrating AP accreditation with The Centre for Advancing Practice
  • IRM(E)R trained (where relevant to professional background and role)
  • Blood product prescriber (where relevant to professional background and role)
  • Non-medical prescriber (where relevant to professional background and role)

Desirable

  • Teaching and assessing qualification
  • Relevant research qualification – e.g., Good Clinical Practice
  • Recognized leadership and management course
  • Completion of relevant extended role scope competencies

Experience

  • Experience of a senior professional role in relevant clinical specialty
  • Enhanced clinical skills relevant to area of clinical practice
  • Experienced in managing own caseload of patients as an independent practitioner
  • Experience of implementing evidence-based practice
