Job summary
The Advanced Cancer Care Navigator for Gynaecology will form an integral part of the multidisciplinary team in caring for the physical, social and psychological needs of patients diagnosed with cancer and their carers, with a focus on supporting where there is advanced disease.
Main duties of the job
Ensure patients, family and carers are treated with dignity and respect and in keeping with the RWT approach and Macmillan values.
Provide dedicated and knowledgeable support to patients receiving care and treatment at RWT.
Develop good working relationships and liasion with other departments and Healthcare
professionals within RWT, external relevant services and local palliative services

Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE or equivalent level including Maths and English (C/Level 4 )
Desirable
- Educated to diploma level or relevant experience
Experience
Essential
- Experience working with patients with cancer
- Relevant experience in a clinical setting and basic medical terminology
- Experience of multi- professional working
- Ability to show empathy and understand the difficulties faced by people with cancer
- Experience of managing emotionally distressing and complex situations
Communication

- Excellent communicator both face-to-face, telephone and email.
- Good observational skills
- Ability to use tact and empathy
