The Anticoagulation support worker will co-ordinate and support the anticoagulation team to ensure excellent service is provided to all patients and service users.
Main duties of the job
Key areas of responsibility will be assisting in the smooth running of the Anticoagulation clinic which includes point of care (POC) near testing for patients as well as providing administrative support. The post holder should have a confident and professional attitude, good telephone manner, word processing skills and be able to use/learn clinical programmes (RAID/DAWN, Cerner). They must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

- Certificate or qualification in Health and Social care
- Good general education (GCSE/A-levels or equivalent)

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in a health care setting particularly with anticoagulation clinic in an outpatient setting.
- Certificate in phlebotomy as well as experience with point of care near patient testing
Desirable
- Administrative/management experience.
- A good understanding of patient care.
- Customer care training

- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- IT literate with good keyboard and word processing skills.
- Ability to maintain up to date and accurate records.
