Job summary

Yorkshire Ambulance Service is looking for an Apprenticeship Learner Support Lead to support learners on our in-house and provider-led apprenticeships. The post-holder will work within the Apprenticeships Team alongside an existing Learner Support Lead. Whilst this role covers a wide range of support across clinical and non-clinical apprenticeships, we are looking for someone to lead specifically on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support for apprentices.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be experienced in supporting additional needs, implementing reasonable adjustments and creating individual support plans for a range of needs and disabilities. Experience in the apprenticeship or further education sector would be beneficial, alongside knowledge of additional Learning Support Funding (LSF) claims. This role provides the opportunity for someone with knowledge and experience in SEND to own our apprenticeship inclusion processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity issues in relation to education
  • Extensive knowledge of education regulatory frameworks and apprenticeship policy
  • Experience of supporting the provision of high quality apprenticeship programmes with workforce impact
  • Experience of working with an education, training and learning department and/or training providers
  • Experience of working to the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of awarding and regulatory organisations
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, and to manage conflicting demands on time and resources, to deliver objectives

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and learner support for apprentices
