Are you looking for an opportunity to join the NHS and work within Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Services? Do you have experience supporting childrens speech, language and communication in an education setting?

Due to a retirement we are recruiting to a Band 4 assistant practitioner role. This is a great opportunity to join our highly motivated and innovative team based in Worcestershire.

We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic practitioner with a commitment to collaborative working to join our team.

This is a full time post

 

Main duties of the job

We are a well-established team offering a range of services for 0-19 year olds. This post will involve working within our early years, mainstream schools and complex needs teams in Worcestershire, working alongside speech and language therapists and other speech and language therapy assistants to deliver universal, targeted and specialist level support. It will include:

Working with families, demonstrating practical ways to support children

Visits to schools to set up targeted and specialist interventions and share resources

Delivery of targeted and specialist interventions in settings and schools

Resource development

Working within our SLTA team to develop our service

 

We are looking for a good team player who can be flexible and a supportive member of the team.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience working within a relevant clinical service as a senior HCA / HCSW

Qualifications

Essential

  • Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (or alternative equivalent award e.g. Higher National Diploma (HND) or BTEC (level 4)
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

Additional Criteria

  • Ability to travel efficiently to meet the needs of the job, travelling from setting to setting.

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English and in both verbal and written formats.
