Job summary

The post holder is a key interface between Procurement and our customers, managing the timely processing of requisitions for a range of goods and service that offer ‘value for money’ utilising electronic tools, ensuring compliance with Organisational standards and relevant legislation.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the Procurement Officers to deliver an effective and professional procurement service that delivers both quality and VfM outcomes.

Lead on procurement processes of quotations and under threshold tenders.

Facilitates the collection and collation of information, analysis of data, and creation of reports regarding usage.

Leads on keeping the department registers up to date including the Contract Register, PPI Register & Single Tender Waiver Register. Issuing adverts, use of e-sourcing, awarding contracts, full life cycle reporting.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 4 in Procurement or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above to include English and Maths

Desirable

  • Working towards CIPS qualified to level 4 diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in purchasing environment. Use of computerised ordering systems. MS Office software applications. Extensive customer service experience. Experience in providing training to end users & suppliers for e-procurement systems.

Desirable

  • Experience of purchasing environment within NHS or other public sector organisation. Experience of undertaking quotation process

Skills

Essential

  • Computer literate with the ability to use department based systems and Microsoft office suite of business applications. Excellent communication skills. Understanding of internet & related technologies. Self motivated and with drive and initiative

Essential

  • Able to work on own initiative Adaptable and flexible under pressure. Enthusiastic and resilient. Pleasant and helpful. Team player.
