Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join our Community Forensic Team. Our service works with individuals across the community pathway, including people transitioning from secure hospitals. Many of the people we support have a history of, or are at risk of, behaviours that have brought them into contact with the criminal justice system. This makes for a varied, meaningful role with rich learning opportunities for those interested in forensic and community mental health.
This brand-new post offers a unique opportunity to help shape how psychological approaches are embedded within the team. Working under the supervision of a Principal Forensic Psychologist, you will contribute to assessments, formulations, interventions, and the delivery of psychologically informed care. You will also assist with audits, data collection, service development projects, and the implementation of evidence-based practice across the service.
We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, good organisation, and the ability to work flexibly within a multidisciplinary environment. You should bring curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care. This role provides excellent experience for those interested in forensic or community mental health settings and offers valuable exposure for individuals considering future clinical training pathways.

- Assist with clinically related audits, service evaluation, data collection, and the production of reports to support service improvement.
- Help embed psychologically informed practice across the multidisciplinary team by sharing observations, contributing to discussions, and supporting reflective work.
- Communicate sensitively with service users, carers, and partner agencies, often around complex or emotive information.
- Organise and prioritise your own workload, balancing clinical activity, supervision, and administrative tasks.
- Maintain accurate records, adhere to confidentiality and data protection standards, and uphold Trust policies and professional codes of conduct.
