Job summary

East of England Community Health and Care Trust provides Integrated Contraception & Sexual Health (iCaSH) across Bedford, Cambridgeshire, Milton Keynes, Norfolk, Peterborough and Suffolk.

The service delivers care specifically to meet the needs of its diverse population. The Norfolk service is community based with three main clinics in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Kings Lynn, providing contraception, sexual health and HIV care and treatment.

The successful candidate will join a team of friendly, highly skilled and experienced medical, nursing and allied health professionals, supported by clinic assistants and administrative staff, all delivering a high standard of care to patients at our Norwich Clinic. You will also work alongside the teams in King’s Lynn and Great Yarmouth, you must be prepared to travel.

Working Pattern: Monday to Saturday, including evening until 19:30

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse or Midwife with a strong team-working ethic to join our team as Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist: Progressive Post.

You will need to be enthusiastic and passionate about patient centred care, an excellent team player but also be able to work independently when needed. You will also need to be able to work with a diverse range of clients in an innovative sexual health setting.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • NMC Registered Nurse or NMC Registered midwife
  • BASHH STIF Intermediate

Desirable

  • Recognised qualification in contraception and or sexual health (must be willing to work towards)
  • Teaching qualification (ENB 998 or C&G 730) or mentorship

Experience

Essential

  • Proven recent experience of working with young people
  • Evidence of collaborative working
  • Team worker

Desirable

  • Post registration clinical experience
  • Proven recent experience of working with young people

Skills

Essential

  • Evidence of ability to provide holistic nursing care
  • Evidence of sensitivity and understanding of the needs of patients

Desirable

  • Has a proven ability to work in a sexual health context with adults and young people
  • To have knowledge/experience of clinical aspects of Contraception/GUM/HIV care Health promotion experience
  • Experience of using Patient Groups Directions

Safeguarding

Essential

  • Ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults
  • Demonstrates understanding of safeguarding issues

Working within professional boundaries

Essential

  • Accepts responsibility and accountability for own work and can define the responsibilities of others.
