Job summary

We are looking for a Band 6 occupational therapist to work within the inpatient eating disorder inpatient service

at the Barberry National Centre for Mental Health. The post is full time, for 37.5 hours per week.

This will be an ideal opportunity for someone with a passion for specialising in the area of inpatient eating disorders to gain new knowledge, skills and broaden their experience in this specialist service.

The post offers opportunity to work on the inpatient ward developing clinical OT assessment and intervention skills and input into a multi disciplinary team group programme. The role will also include the supervision of an OT assistant, and regular expectation to facilitate student placements.

Main duties of the job

o To work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.o To manage a defined caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a range of settings.o To maintain multidisciplinary clinical records.o To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of occupational therapy services within a designated service, holding responsibility for defined projects.o To regularly supervise occupational therapy students on placement.o To provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal.o To contribute to the maintenance and development of the trust occupational therapy service.

  • HCPC registration
  • Strong interest in working in Eating disorders
  • Significant post registration experience in mental health
  • stated interest in specialisation

Desirable

  • RCOT membership
  • Experience in eating disorder
  • Knowledge/ experience working with neurodiversity
  • Knowledge / experience in using sensory strategies
