Job summary
The post holder will work in the Community Learning Disability Team providing Clinical leadership and team leadership. The role will enhance the current nursing leadership service provision as a whole. The post holder will lead and work in collaboration, with the Nurse Leads and Clinical Leads and Head of Professions, Hub managers.
The post holder will assess care needs of children and young people with moderate to profound learning disabilities, implement care in a variety of settings, providing highly specialist advice and maintain appropriate records. The post holder will provide specialist education and training to other staff, students, patients and carers.
The post holder will need to hold a relevant professional qualification (RMN) and hold current registration with NMC.
Main duties of the job
Will act as a Senior CAMHS Practitioner within a defined community service (Solar).
Will manage a defined caseload within the service, developing specialised programmes of care to meet mental health needs of the 0-18 population with a moderate to profound Learning Disability.
Will be responsible for the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation, which govern current service provision and audit.
Supervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals and involved in the development of psychological therapy provision within the service as appropriate.
Will be responsible for ensuring effective communication pathways exist.
Will be responsible for ensuring the promotion of equality diversity and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation.
Knowledge and completion of Continuing Healthcare Checklists.
Will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs necessary in providing quality evidence based care as appropriate.
Provide professional leadership, day-to-day supervision and support for the defined team or teams, to take on a consultative role, based on developing skills, experience and expertise within the wider team.

- Significant experience and knowledge of working at a senior nurse level
