Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced Medical PA/Administrator to aim the trust bank team, to help support Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood Mental Health Team based at Cavendish House in Hastings town centre.

Working to directly support one of our Consultant Psychiatrist and their Speciality Doctor, and wider Multi Disciplinary Team this role will be intrinsic to the provision of care to patients within the community NMHT.

This will prove to be a busy and diverse role, requiring a highly organised and proactive individual with a background in healthcare related administration work. We would therefore welcome applications from anyone who can demonstrate the skills and experience relevant for this post, and whose values and motivators align with those of our organisation.

This role is to cover long term staff absence and will be fully office based.

Main duties of the job

A range of Medical PA duties to include but not limited to:

  • Diary management
  • Booking and maintaining of patient lists
  • Managing waiting lists
  • Letter writing
  • Communications with families, carers and other professional organisations
  • Record keeping
  • Supporting new starters and rotational medics
  • Administration of meetings, agenda writing and minute taking
  • Supervision of junior staff

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant NVQ3 qualification / RSA 3 or equivalent

Knowledge

Essential

  • Extensive knowledge of a full range of secretarial procedures
  • Knowledge of software programmes / packages
  • Previous experience in a similar role

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative and respond to queries using own judgement.
  • Ability to organise complex activities or programmes requiring formulation and adjustment
