Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason and joiner/ carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining brick structures, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are upheld throughout the project.

Responsibilities

• Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry units according to specifications and design plans.

Joiner/ Carpenter

• Measure and cut materials to ensure precise fitting.
• Mix mortar and other bonding agents as required for various projects.
• Construct walls, arches, and other structures using bricks and blocks.
• Repair existing brickwork by replacing damaged bricks or repointing joints.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and welders, to complete projects efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and guidelines.
• Inspect completed work for quality assurance and compliance with building codes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Brick Mason and joiner/ carpenter in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to masonry work.
• Strong knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and safety practices.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour for extended periods.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• A valid driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.

Experience:

• Plastering: 1 year (preferred)
• Bricklaying: 1 year (preferred)
• Masonry: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
