Job summary
West Suffolk NHS Trust is looking for an experienced and motivated Business Manager to join the Strategy & Transformation Team.
Working closely with divisional leaders, senior clinicians and operational teams, you will use your project management, analytical and business-planning expertise to support the development and delivery of business plans, business cases, cost improvement plans and service improvement projects.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, confidently influence senior stakeholders, and enjoys building strong relationships, solving problems and making a measurable difference in a complex environment. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape efficient, well-planned services that deliver better outcomes for patients and our communities.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to support the development and delivery clinical divisions’ business plans, Cost Improvement Plans (CIPs), and agreed projects.
The post holder will work collaboratively with senior clinicians and professionals to scope, develop, and deliver efficient, well-planned, and sustainable services.
The post holder will provide technical project management expertise to support divisional triumvirates to deliver meaningful change, and evidence success.

Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s qualification in business management or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
- Qualification in programme management
Desirable
- Qualification in change management methodology (e.g. Lean)
- Financial qualification
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of leading or supporting large-scale programmes or projects.
- Experience of developing service and divisional-level business plans.
- Evidence of leading the delivery of CIP programmes.
- Experience of developing and utilising key frameworks for programme management.
Skills
Essential
- The ability to strike a balance between challenging and supportive, with objective views given at all times.
- Analyse, interpret and act upon a range of different sources of complex information
- Ability to coordinate and prioritise a range of different streams and activities
