Job summary

This is a 37.5
hours per week post, based in Hereford.

CAMHS Herefordshire
offers assessment and a range of evidence based interventions to Children and
young people up to the age of 18.

This role
will be across core CAMHS.

The role
is primarily based in Hereford with occasional face to face meetings with other
DBT clinicians across Worcestershire.

DBT
Foundation Training can be provided for the right candidate.

You would be
part of a multi-disciplinary team. Supporting the service offering robust mental health assessment and
planned treatments/interventions. You will be working as part of the wider
CAMHS MDT where you will have the opportunity to supported, learn and grow.

The work will be challenging, exciting and rewarding as we promote mental
health recovery and empowerment to our children and young people.

Main duties of the job

Duties in your role include offering
mental health assessments and care planning/treatment for moderate to severe
mental health illnesses that are experienced by those aged under 18 years.

The CAMHS multi-disciplinary team will
support you and your clinical decision making in relation to the patients you
assess.

As a senior colleague you will have
opportunity to offer mentorship to students and trainees as appropriate to your
qualification.

You are expected to proactively engage
in your own supervision and be able to communicate with children, young people,
families, partner agencies both verbally and in writing to promote mental
health recovery and multi-agency working.

We are a countywide service with occasional
cross county working. We offer clinical on-site appointments
but sometimes source alternative locations.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive post registration experience in mental health care including mental health assessment and risk assessment.
  • Use of therapeutic interventions within mental health settings i.e., 1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work.
  • Delivering teaching/training.
  • Providing consultation.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional clinical qualification RMN/OT/Social Worker etc.
  • Evidence of post registered clinical qualifications/training or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of training to a minimum of post graduate diploma level.
  • Current registration with relevant professional body.
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
