Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 clinician to join Nottinghamshire CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) Service. We are seeking a clinician committed to working within an innovative, dynamic, and growing multi-disciplinary Community CAMHS Service. The children & young people who access our services present with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties ranging from mild to severe.
You would be joining an established, supportive, and hardworking team who are passionate about improving the outcomes for the children, young people, and their families/carers. We are looking for a caring, approachable, and confident clinician, who can work independently and under support from the senior clinical team around screening, triaging referrals, gathering additional information, networking, liaising, contributing to MDTs and leading on development areas within the specific role. You will be required to work as part of a team, autonomously, flexibly and within professional boundaries and Trust values to provide a holistic approach and within the THRIVE model of care.
Main duties of the job
Aims of CAMHS SPA
SPA provides a single point of access for referrals into CAMHS for children and young people who have a Nottinghamshire based GP. The service provides a safe, accountable, and governed process for receiving professional and self-referrals, as well as screening and triaging new referrals to obtain additional contextual informtaion around mental health presentations. In addition, you will need to identify any risk factors and provide minimising risk advice, psychoeducational support and prompt decision making to identify the most appropriate service to meet the presenting needs at the given time. Thereby, enabling, facilitating and recommending the right offer, the right service, at the right time to meet the emotional and mental health presenting needs. This requires close working relationships and understanding of universal services within Nottinghamshire, as well as the specialist CAMHS provision, to enable informed decision making.
Daily structures are in place to meet the demands of SPA through task allocation meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings, referral meetings, as well as designated allocated time within the working day to carry out triage calls and others functionalities of the SPA service.
There is an expectation that the successful applicant will access clinical, managerial, and safeguarding supervision and attend complex case discussions, peer support sessions and share knowledge and training with colleagues within the team.
