Job Summary
The job has a long-term R&R agreement of 10% rising to 12.5% after 3 years.
Areas of focus will include supporting the primary PCI service, including participating in the on-call rota
Independent invasive technical expertise will be developed in the catheter laboratories for coronary intervention and non-complex pacing implants
Assisting with all types of complex device implants and follow-up (both on and off-site)
Working towards Independent cover of structural and valvular cardiology such as ASD closures and TAVI
Work in non-invasive areas as required, including resting electrocardiograms, Holter analysis, physiology-led exercise tests, perfusion stress testing, remote monitoring of implantable loop recorders & tilt testing
Rotational post around subspecialties as service demand dictates.
The role is predominantly a scientific one and as such the post holder will be expected to have a foundation level of skill and autonomy, appropriate to the band 5 level, to:
Main duties of the job
Carry out foundation level clinical roles, including working directly with patients.
Analyse, interpret and compare investigative and clinical options at foundation level.
Make judgements, including clinical and differential judgements, involving facts or situations that impact on patients.
Communicate and work with a multidisciplinary professional team.
Participate in research and data collection and be involved in the foundation level education of healthcare science trainees and other learners in the workplace.

Qualifications
Essential
- BSc Clinical Cardiac Science with PTP, PTP equivalence or Apprenticeship as healthcare science practitioner — meeting the standards ST0413.
Desirable
- MSc Cardiac Science
- Registered with RCCP
Experience
Essential
- Diagnostic and interventional angiography, non-invasive rhythm diagnostics.
- Have a confident level of knowledge of the physiology and pathophysiology of the heart.
Desirable
- Structural cardiology such as TAVI and ASD closures.
- On call experience
- Pacing implants and follow-up
- Competent in providing cardiac
- physiology support in a range of procedures
- Cardiac Physiology experience post graduation
