Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to individuals in care homes or receiving home care services, ensuring their wellbeing, comfort, and independence. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support clients in maintaining their independence and dignity
- Follow individualised care plans to meet specific needs and preferences
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition
- Support clients with light domestic tasks, including meal preparation and light cleaning where appropriate
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring safe transportation
Requirements
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive clients safely to appointments or outings
- Experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to listen attentively and communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and updating care plans
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism
