Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the CAMHS/Family Care Unit as Care Unit Co-ordinator.

You will show good leadership and communication skills, be able to deal with complex and varied information and be flexible and compassionate to the needs of the service receivers and team members.

You will receive regular supervision and guidance from colleagues and management to support you in this role and you will be supported to develop your knowledge-base and skill. There will be opportunity to engage in varied, leadership development training within the organisation and be supported to develop their career.

You will be expected to lead, motivate and influence individuals, have excellent communication and analytical skills and be able to juggle the competing demands of the role whilst supporting the Care Unit.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high level of professional and confidential coordination of the administrative staff for the Care Unit. The post holder will provide support to the Service Manager/Assistant Service Manager in all aspects of hospital and community performance management.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide:

  • Management of administrative staff
  • Support to senior clinical and management staff
  • Work in cohesion with other Care Units
  • Waiting list and waiting time management
  • Operational coordination and problem solving

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised management qualification (ILM/BTEC/NVQ) or equivalent experience
  • Good typing skills
  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent – C or above

Desirable

  • ECDL
  • Office based training such as NVQ
  • Audio Typing

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing staff and leading a team
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Previous experience of capturing data in an information system or database
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise own workload and that of others
  • Experience of presenting reports and validating data

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience
  • Previous office experience
  • Knowledge of HR processes

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Excellent prioritisation, planning and organisation skills
  • Excellent computer skills – Outlook, MS Office, Teams and other IT Systems
