Job Summary
We are recruiting for Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to join Sussex Partnership Trust working in either the East Sussex NHS Talking Therapies service (Health in Mind) or Brighton and Hove NHS Talking Therapies service (Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service)
NHS Talking Therapies services provide evidence-based treatments for people with depression and/or a range of anxiety-based difficulties within primary care.
Candidates are applying for the position of Trainee CBT Therapist. This is a training role which requires the successful attendance and completion of the 1-year PG Diploma in High Intensity Psychological Therapies course. Successful candidates will be employed full time by Sussex Partnership NHS Trust and will attend University 2.5 days per week during the academic year. The remainder of the week trainees will work within our NHS Talking Therapies services delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapies and completing assessments for Health in Mind or Brighton and Hove Wellbeing service.

Essential
- A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy. Please check the BABCP core professions list for specific required qualifications
- Evidence of meeting the Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) requirements of BABCP
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services
- Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets
- Ability to manage own caseload and time
- Demonstrates high standards in written communication
- Able to write clear reports and letters to referrer
- Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
- Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
- Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
- Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
