Are you an experienced children’s nurse with a passion for education and high-quality care?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our education team within Children’s Services to support our newly qualified nurses during the winter period in both the Children and Young People’s Unit and the Children’s Emergency Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is highly motivated and committed to join our innovative team.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and coaching skills to ensure a supportive learning environment for all. As an integral member of the Education Team, your responsibilities will include;

  • Supporting and providing clinical education to both registered and non-registered staff
  • Participate the delivery of ad hoc ward based training programmes including simulation training
  • Assist in planning and delivering an NQN induction programme including follow-up study sessions.
  • Plan and deliver an on-going education program for internal staff and students.

You will be required to have exceptional organisational skills, be highly supportive and approachable with the ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team, to deliver high standards of evidence-based training and quality nursing care to the children and families within our service.

The post holder will need to be flexible with their shift pattern to support the changing support needs of the staff within the service, this will include some nights and weekends.

  • At least 2 years’ experience with a paediatric inpatient setting

  • Experience within a teaching role

  • IV Skills

  • IT skills

Qualifications

  • ENB 998 or equivalent (SLIP) or practice supervisor/assessor training.
  • RSCN, RN Child or RN
  • Current in date EPLS

  • EPLS instructor

  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
