Job Summary

Leadership of the cloud engineering function across the Trust including the development, implementation, optimisation and maintenance of the trust’s cloud-based systems, supporting the Technical Architect in delivering trustwide IT projects and solutions.

Responsible for applying software engineering practices to build and maintain a system wide Cloud Environment, architecting, building and deploying new solutions based on internal customer needs. management.

To be a subject matter expert. Have in-depth knowledge and significant first-hand experience of architecting, building and optimising cloud solutions. Develop and deliver training and coaching for other digital colleagues including technical training on relevant architecture, software packages, languages or technical approaches as well as requirements gathering, specification, design and implementation.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Assist the Technical architect with strategic definition and development of the Trust Cloud architecture. The Trust IT architecture covers clinical and non-clinical systems and support for links and access with the wider healthcare community.
  • Act as the Trust’s Cloud Technical Design Authority who provides a focus for Infrastructure elements of design across all IT systems, hardware and software. Manages the development and adherence to the IT architecture and participates in project governance ensuring alignment of projects within the architectural IT roadmap and strategy of the Trust.
  • Lead the implementation of cloud architecture solutions across a group of clinical and business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, architecture principles, business capabilities and business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices and ensure adherence to legal and mandated technology standards such as DSPT and cyber essentials.
  • Apply software engineering practices to build and maintain a system wide Azure environment.o Architect, build and operate new solutions based on internal customer needs

Person Specification

Evidence of Cloud platforms Certification such as AZ900 or AZ104

Essential

  • Certification from multiple cloud platform provider

Desirable

  • Evidence of Cloud platforms Certification such as AZ900 or AZ104

Cloud and Onpremise Infrastructure experience

Essential

  • Experience or delivering Cloud Migration, Management as SaaS, PaaS and IaaS

Desirable

  • Infrastructure as code. Experience with Teraform. Hybrid Infrastructure. VMWare

Disaster Recovery and backup

Essential

  • Execute DR, HA, backup, and resilience designs as part of new platform deployments

Desirable

  • Hands on exprience in using Disaster Recovery and backup
