Main duties of the job
The post holder willassess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of patient carein a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students.
The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

Qualifications
Essential
- First level registration – Registered Nurse Degree or Diploma
Desirable
- Teaching Qualification Degree level 6 study Diploma
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of current nursing issues
- Knowledge of clinical governance
- IT/ Word Processing
Training and Experience
Essential
- Experience of working on own and as part of a team
- Ability to supervise and support junior staff.
- Awareness of clinical Audit
Desirable
- Experience in community nursing
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must hold a driving licence and have access to a car
- Ability to travel around the trust and community with specialist equipment, which may include travelling to remote locations.
