Main duties of the job

The post is offered as 10 programmed activities (PAs) over five days and you will be part of the general medical on call rota. We are open to discuss any specific or specialised job plans that candidates may desire, including flexible/less than full time working. The department strives to achieve a collective work ethos to help to maintain long term sustainability to work-life balance. Person Specification

Qualification

Essential

  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC registration with license to practice.
  • Medical Degree
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or CESR

Desirable

  • MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
  • Substantive NHS experience

Eligibility & Fitness to Pract

Essential

  • Eligible to work in the UK

Teaching and Supervision

Essential

  • Experience in teaching & supervising medical students and junior trainees

Desirable

  • Experience of supervising SpRs/specialist trainees Higher teaching qualification

Research and Audit

Essential

  • Experience of undertaking audits and presenting their findings
  • Able to critically review and apply research to clinical situations

Clinical practice/ competence

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in Gastroenterology +/- general medicine
