Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist geriatric care in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Contribute to acute/frailty take and 7-day working
- Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement, and teaching
- Mentor junior doctors and multidisciplinary teams
- Develop sub-specialty interests (e.g., frailty, dementia, movement disorders, surgical liaison, stroke)
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT)
- Broad experience managing complex older patients
- Strong communication, leadership, and MDT collaboration skills
- Experience in teaching and supervision
Desirable
- Interest in frailty, dementia, falls, or community geriatrics
- Evidence of service development or clinical leadership
- Experience in research, audit, or simulation-based teaching
