Job summary

This is a new role for the London Ambulance Service, which recognises that the Trust needs to build capacity and capability to develop and deliver effective contract management assurance including supplier assurance in relation to data protection, information governance and cyber security. The post-holder will lead and support the development of robust and secure cyber supply chain and contract management practices, ensuring that suppliers operate to appropriate security and develop robust governance standards.

 

Main duties of the job

They will develop and embed standard approaches and best practice principles to contract management, supplier assurance, and data and cyber risk oversight across the Trust, working closely with Procurement, IT Risk, Governance and Cyber colleagues to ensure that contractual arrangements support business continuity and minimise risk from third-party systems or data handling.The post holder’s main responsibility is to implement, own and manage a Cyber Security Contract Management strategy for key contracts.

Essential

  • In depth understanding of contract law & application of contract terms
  • In depth understating of UK regulatory framework for cyber security and data protection
  • Knowledge of Contract management lifecycle (public sector)
  • Project Management within Procurement Programmes or Projects
  • Exceptional organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to organise self and others to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
  • Supplier Performance management of strategic contracts including KPI analysis
  • Demonstrate experience of developing and maintaining a regular pres ence with stakeholders with the ability network confidently and build productive relationships across a complex organisation.
  • Documentation and report writing
  • Advanced keyboard skill including excel and (Visual Basic for Applications, pivot tables and macros)
  • Experience maintaining supplier records in risk management or GRC tools.
  • Experience conducting supplier due diligence, risk assessments, or audits, including evaluating cyber maturity and business continuity ar rangements.
  • Proven experience of leading complex and/or high value procurement activity on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NCSC guidance, Cyber Essentials, or NHS-specific cyber standards.
  • Proven experience in cyber security governance, risk management, or compliance within a large organisation, ideally in healthcare or regu lated environments.

Qualifications, Accreditations, Education

Essential

  • Educated to degree-level qualification or equivalent level of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Post graduate qualification and/or training and CPD or equivalent experience
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) qualification or equivalent Contract Management qualifications (e.g. CPCM, CCM)
  • Project Management Qualification e.g Prince2 qualification Practitioner level
  • GRC Professional Certification e.g. GRCP or relevant experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven ability to negotiate large value contracts and strong financial acumen
  • Strong relationship management skills both with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Excellent project management skills preferably in a Project / Programme Management Office (PRINCE2)
  • Reporting design and creation.
  • Able to exercise judgement and analytical skills in relation to planning and subsequent delivery
  • Experience of driving change at different levels
  • Proven capabilities in process / problem analysis, challenging existing thinking and generating improvements and solutions
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences
  • Highly effective communication skills – must be able to articulate complex technical issues to a wide range of recipients, both written and verbally. Able to communicate technical information at multiple levels
  • Awareness of audit and risk management processes
  • Proficient in using Procurement and Contract Management IT systems (Atamis or equivalent
  • Able to carry out analysis or investigation on behalf of the Procurement department
  • Demonstrate an understanding of NHS procurement processes, sys tems and regulations
  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles, risk management, and governance frameworks.
