DTS Network EngineerFull Time – 37.5 hours per weekWe are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team of dedicated IT professionals. We support the delivery of informationtechnology and Telephony to around 6,500 NHS staff working at Stepping Hill Hospital and over 30 sites in the Stockport community.The post holders will have significant experience of managing and maintaining an Enterprise Cisco Network that includes VOIP, Nexus, ACI,Wireless & Firepower. You will have responsibility for operational and strategic support in conjunction with the Network and UC Manager of theNetwork infrastructure, which contains switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, Cisco Call Managers, VOIP, WebEx, authenticationservers etc. Formal Cisco qualification would be highly advantageous.You will provide technical assistance and support to staff, system administrators, service providers and our colleagues in partner careorganisations. At times you will be required to work off site therefore you must have the use of your own vehicle and a full valid driving license.You will also participate in an on-call rota to provide out of hours support.
Main duties of the job
This is a position in the department, occasionally deputising for the Network and UC Manager in all matters related to the Network duringshort-term absences.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be of equal importance to technical ability.

Education & Qualifications
Essential
- A higher education qualification in a computing/engineering/technical discipline or relevant equivalent acquired experience combined with a vocational IT qualification
- ITIL Foundation Certificate (to be passed within 12 months of appointment)
Desirable
- Microsoft Certified Professional Certificate
Knowledge
Essential
- A good knowledge of computer architecture, Windows operating systems and office applications
- Data Protection and software licensing principals
- Directory Services / Administration
Desirable
- ITIL Problem & Incident Management
- ITIL Configuration Management
- Desktop & application virtualisation
- Mobile Device Management
Experience

- Experience of supporting desktop technologies in a networked environment
- Experience of supporting the Windows operating system and standard office applications
