Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in an evolving service:

Delivering evidence-based , early intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems, working with a range of professionals to direct best practice, in a holistic, and child centred way.

Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services. Supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify mental health and wellbeing needs, promoting a Whole School Approach and embedding a positive ethos and attitude to mental health and wellbeing.

2 full time posts (37.5 hours)Mansfield and Ashfield, base is Lindsay Close – Mansfield.

1 full time post (37.5 hours) Newark and Sherwood, base is Balderton Primary Care Centre.

22.5 hours post Newark and Sherwood, base is Balderton Primary Care Centre.

 

Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity to be involved in a new and exciting trailblazing team hosted within CAMHS, as a joint initiative between health and education. The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is a new service available in certain Nottinghamshire schools . We have been a trailblazer site for the project and were the first site nationally to go live in December 2019.

Post holders will work within a hybrid model with some remote work as well as working in schools.

You will work with a variety of agencies to ensure a quality service is provided. You will work alongside the team to deliver parent, staff well-being and 1:1 sessions.

You must be a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner and have obtained the relevant EMHP Post Graduate Diploma qualification following the completion of a CYP IAPT approved training in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People (C&Y IAPT).

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Desirable

  • Qualifications Educated to Degree Level
  • Training Qualification in therapeutic approaches with children and families eg CBT systemic, solution focused, play therapy
  • Experience vidence of the ability to use and provide clinical supervision
  • Experience Community experience, working in schools and with families
  • Knowledge Ability to use electronic data recording systems
  • Knowledge knowledge and application of behaviour programmes and support for parents of children with emotional health problems
