Job Summary

The Clinical Systems – EHR Development Team is seeking to recruit to this position within the existing Millennium Development team. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic team which supports Millennium across the Barts Health Trust. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Digital solutions in Healthcare who is innovative and forward thinking to join our team as an EPR Configuration Analyst. The ideal candidate would have experience with Digital systems, particularly designing, developing, configuring and deploying clinical systems, using excel, excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills. An advantage would also be experience working within a healthcare setting.

The Clinical Systems has embarked on a large programme of technical changes and system adoption. To support this programme of change, you will be responsible for delivering brand new developments into Millennium as well as working on enhancing existing functionality.You will also have responsibility for managing the Team’s development request queue via our call logging software.

Use and understanding of Cerner Millennium is essential whilst development experience using Cerner CCL/SQL and web development are desirable

Main duties of the job

As a senior representative of the Development & Support team, responsible for developing, enhancing and supporting the CRS Millennium System based on requirements gathered from key stakeholders. This includes working on the more complex change requests that the team receives.

Responsible for implementing bug fixes and changes that are requested by the Clinical Systems Technical Support Team.

Responsible for configuring the system performing administrative functions when requested by other Clinical Systems Support Teams.

Overall, required to provide expert knowledge in the mechanics of the CRS system such that the system can be modified to support the requirements of the business.

Ensuring Trust compliance with required Change and Release management procedures.

Responsible for liaising/negotiating with user departments to ensure appropriate turnaround times for system configuration changes are made.

This is a senior technical role that demonstrates a high level of proficiency with the Cerner Millennium software components and backend database.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to A level Standard
  • A relevant first-degree, or equivalent qualification

Desirable

  • ITIL green badge equivalent in service management
  • PRINCE2 foundation equivalent in project management Management Diploma or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Effective communication and influencing skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Good systems and business analysis skills
  • Implementation experience in at least one major clinical system
  • Experience of Cerner Millennium Patient Administration System management

Desirable

  • Experience in working in a Service Management environment
  • Significant Problem management experience relating to software systems,
  • Broad understanding of NHS clinical and administrative processes.
  • NHS data standards and reporting requirements

Knowledge

Essential

  • Practical knowledge of Cerner Millennium and related tools
  • Cerner Millennium CCL / DV Dev

Desirable

  • Service Management knowledge

Skills

Essential

  • The ability to work with confidence autonomously, using own initiative to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Significant technical ability with CRS systems (Cerner Millennium).
  • The ability to set own objectives and meet targets that are in place
  • Keyboard or alternative computer input device proficiency
  • Proficient in Quality Assurance Techniques.

Desirable

  • Competence in ITIL Change and Problem management
  • Must be able to input critical data accurately and at high speed.
