EPR Digital Transformation & Clinical Safety Practitioner: Part-time, Fixed term

An opportunity exists for Digital Transformation and Clinical Safety Practitioners working with our team to deliver the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) for UEC, Outpatients, Theatres and support optimisation of the live EPR in Inpatients. Supported in the role by our Chief Nursing Information Officer and team of project management professionals.
The post holder(s) will work across all sites, and the post is restricted to clinical professionals. There are 3 roles with up to 15 hours per week available, and job share is considered. The post is fixed term until 31st March 2027 and available as a secondment.

Main duties of the job
To support the Digital Programmes Team and the wider digital healthcare team by working alongside colleagues in digital services and clinical areas to implement and embed the use of the electronic patient record (EPR) within acute and community hospitals.
Required to support clinical risk management as a Clinical Safety Practitioner, which will require being compliant with Digital Clinical Safety Practitioner training (training will be provided for the post holder where it has not already been achieved).
Communicate key messages across the clinical services in order to keep staff updated, reassured and hopeful as we introduce new technologies to support safer, effective & more efficient care.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered clinical professional with up to date professional registration
- Digital Clinical Safety Practitioner certification (Clinical Safety Officer) or prepared to achieve this in post
- Educated to masters level or equivalent, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of specialist knowledge
- Evidence of continuing professional development, including theory and specialist training

- Knowledge in health and safety and risk issues
- Knowledge of care strategies and evidence based practice
- Knowledge of the importance of planning, assessing, evaluation and implementation of patient care
- Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to electronic patient records
- Teaching, training, presenting or facilitation skills
- Knowledge of IT Microsoft Office to help develop and deliver materials, programmes and systems to support learning
- Knowledge of the range of clinical practices and procedures acquired through ongoing training or ward/department-based experience
- Specialist knowledge in one or more areas of clinical practice and/or IT-based practice, e.g. managing and advising on the care of complex patients or managing an IT system
- Experience of working in a busy clinical environment.
- Experience and knowledge of independently managing patient case load, completing patient assessments, care plans and evaluations
- Experience of clinical risk management activities
- Experience of working in and/or with a wide range of disciplines including nursing/midwifery, medical, AHP’s administration and management colleagues
