Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (Domiciliary) to provide high-quality care to individuals in their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to support clients with a variety of needs, including elderly care, disability support, and specialised dementia or Alzheimer’s care. Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
  • Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
  • Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
  • Assist with specialised care needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, or behavioural management
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
  • Monitor and record health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
  • Support with light physical activities or exercises to promote mobility and wellbeing
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid measures

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is desirable
  • Knowledge of patient care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care practices
  • Certification in first aid and basic life support is advantageous
  • Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely between client locations
  • Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages, including children and the elderly
  • Assist with mobility support
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage behavioural challenges effectively
  • Organisation skills for medication management and documentation compliance
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as required by client needs
