Duties:
– Assisting healthcare professionals in providing care to patients
– Taking and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
– Assisting with patient mobility and transfers
– Assisting with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing and dressing
– Monitoring and reporting changes in patients’ conditions
– Assisting with meal preparation and feeding
– Providing emotional support to patients and their families
Skills:
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families
– Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
– Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals
– Empathy and compassion for patients’ needs and concerns
– Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including standing for long periods of time and lifting/moving patients as needed
– Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals in providing quality care to patients. Your duties will include assisting with patient care tasks, monitoring patients’ conditions, and providing emotional support. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Physical stamina is also important as you will be on your feet for long periods of time and may need to assist with lifting/moving patients. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is also beneficial.
