An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Cumbria Physiotherapy Service as a highly specialist Physiotherapist leading our stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Team at the Cumberland Infirmary

You will provide highly specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients following a range of neurological conditions, while developing and delivering a high-quality rehabilitation service. As team lead, you will support and guide physiotherapists to ensure excellent patient care and smooth progression along the rehab pathways.

You will work closely with the in-patient MDT and collaborate with the Stroke Rehab Team at the West Cumberland Hop, as well as Community Neuro Physio and ESSDT teams, to provide coordinated and effective rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

Provide highly specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients with neurological conditions

Lead and support the neurological rehabilitation physiotherapy team. Develop and monitor high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services. Work closely within the in-patient multidisciplinary team (MDT). Collaborate with the Stroke Rehabilitation Team at West Cumberland Hospital, and with Community Neuro Physio and ESSDT teams. Support efficient patient flow and rehabilitation across neuro pathway

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Leadership or management certificate or equivalent
  • Evidence of accredited postgraduate training and continuing professional development (CPD) at Level 7 or equivalent

Desirable

  • Master’s degree or equivalent

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Current clinical experience working in an inpatient setting.
  • Recent experience of working in the area of stroke and/ or neuro-rehabilitation at B6 and above
  • Multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Supervision and appraisal of staff.
  • Supervision and education of staff and students.
  • Clinical and non-clinical Audit procedures.
  • Lead on Quality improvement project
  • Management and or leadership experience.
  • Current CPD portfolio.
  • Clinical governance and implications for the service
  • Health, safety and risk awareness.
  • Knowledge of Policy, local and national guidelines relating to Neuro and rehabilitation
  • CSP rules of professional conduct and codes of practice
