An opportunity has arisen for an experienced ICT Contract Manager.

Location: Swansea, Cwmbran, St Asaph.

This post within the ICT Department that requires an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who responds positively to new challenges.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide leadership in the overall management of a portfolio of contracts ensuring value for money, compliance and probity in all instances is achieved. The post holder will also play a key role in delivery of ICT projects ensuring all key processes are met, key performance indicators are achieved, and contracts and other commercial agreements are managed in an effective manner.

The post holder will be the liaison with the local Shared Services Procurement Business team in NWSSP ensuring that two-way communications of procurement requirements is maintained.

They will ensure that the ICT Department is sensitive, responsive, and flexible to the changing needs of our users balanced against the need to remain cost effective is essential. The main task is to provide a strong and effective professional management focus leading to the achievement of agreed targets, efficiencies and added value initiatives

Person Specification

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

  • Masters or demonstrable equivalent experience in a relevant area
  • MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) Accreditation or equivalent Procurement Vocational qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Specialist knowledge of contract law / EU legislation to support Public procurement

Desirable

  • Registered with a relevant informatics professional body
  • Qualified in project management, i.e. PRINCE2 or alternative Methodology

Experience

Essential

  • In depth experience in managing commercial relationships and/or contracts
  • Experience of leading complex procurement activity
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable

  • Understanding of a range of contractual constructs including common NHS Terms & Conditions
  • Experience of resource planning and management including the use of appropriate tools and techniques
  • Experience within ICT environment, ideally within the healthcare sector
  • Understanding of the structures and key stakeholders within NHS Wales
  • Knowledge of how the NHS is organised
