Job summary

The IM&T Projects EPR & Clinical System Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Trust’s Digital Transformation Programme, contributing to the successful implementation, optimisation and continuous improvement of Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems and associated clinical technologies. The post holder will work with clinical, operational and technical teams to analyse processes, identify opportunities for innovation, and support the delivery of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions that enhance patient care, staff experience and organisational efficiency.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience across healthcare informatics, digital transformation, business analysis, process improvement and emerging technologies within an NHS environment. The post holder will contribute to projects from design and testing through to implementation, benefits realisation and operational handover.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the delivery of EPR, AI and RPA projects across the Trust.
  • Analyse clinical, operational and administrative processes to identify opportunities for digital innovation and automation.
  • Assist in the design, configuration, testing and implementation of digital solutions, including AI-enabled and automated workflows.
  • Support system integration testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect management activities.
  • Work closely with clinical, operational and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and support solution development.
  • Assist with system monitoring, performance analysis, data quality reviews and issue resolution.
  • Support the development of reports, dashboards and visualisations to monitor project progress and benefits realisation.
  • Contribute to the production of project documentation, business process maps, standard operating procedures and user guidance.
  • Provide first-line support and guidance to users during project delivery, deployment and optimisation phases.
  • Support programme governance, reporting and benefits tracking activities across the Digital Programme.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree qualification or recent graduate in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience

Desirable

  • Evidence of using analytical skills to investigate and identify system and data issues. Evidence of automating tasks including validation rules to promote efficient and quality assured work practice

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Essential

  • Knowledge, understanding and skills in the use of a range of software applications to extract and analyse data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Experience of using databases, with good understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.

Desirable

  • Ability to review and re-design systems and processes
  • Good understanding of NHS terminology and of digital technologies and their application within healthcare settings and their data quality requirements.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of working in a relevant IM&T environment
  • Awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and applications.
  • Awareness of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) concepts and tools.
  • Evidence of developing and using spreadsheets, databases and information systems to retrieve and analyse data

Desirable

  • Understanding of Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems.
  • Evidence of using analytical skills to investigate and identify system and data issues. Evidence of automating tasks including validation rules to promote efficient and quality assured work practice
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
