Information Security Consultant: Sponsorship Available

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Security Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cybersecurity and be adept at identifying vulnerabilities and implementing effective security measures. This role is crucial in safeguarding our organisation’s information assets and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive security assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the organisation’s IT infrastructure.
Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with ISO 27001 standards.
Manage incident response activities, including detection, analysis, and remediation of security incidents.
Utilise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools such as Splunk for real-time monitoring and analysis of security events.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure computer networking practices are adhered to across the organisation.
Provide guidance on best practices for identity management using LDAP systems.
Assist in the development of training programmes to enhance employee awareness of cybersecurity threats and safe practices.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends in the cybersecurity landscape.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a cybersecurity role with a strong understanding of incident management processes.
Familiarity with ITIL frameworks is advantageous.
Proficiency in shell scripting for automation of security tasks is desirable.
Experience with Wide Area Networks (WAN) and their security implications is beneficial.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information quickly and accurately.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications in cybersecurity or related fields would be an asset.
