Job Summary
We are seeking a GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Inpatient Dispensary Team, led by Pharmacy Technicians. In this role, you will support the Dispensary Manager in managing, coordinating, and delivering our Inpatient Dispensing Services. This diverse role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of all aspects of this essential Pharmacy service. We are looking for a Band 4/5 Pharmacy Technician with an ACPT qualification. However, we will also consider Pharmacy Technicians with relevant experience who are willing to work towards obtaining an ACPT qualification. We also welcome applications from Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians who are about to complete their qualification, with entry-level positions available at Band 4.
Main duties of the job
The Dispensary Specialist Pharmacy Technician supports the Dispensary Manager in the management, co-ordination and delivery of the Inpatient Dispensary service.
All duties in accordance with Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.
To undertake appropriate post-qualification studies as required.

Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum qualification NVQ3 Pharmacy Services, BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or CGLI/Apothecaries Hall pre 1985 certificates
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Checking accreditation, one or all of: Accredited Checking Technician (National Framework), Medicines Management Accreditation (CMMPT or national equivalent), Preparative Services Checking Accreditation
- Computer Literacy (Word, Excel)
Experience
Essential
- Recent hospital or community pharmacy dispensing or relevant specialist experience
- Recent dispensing or aseptics experience
Desirable
- Supervision of other staff grades
Knowledge

- Policies and procedures
- Formulary management
- Awareness of NICE, NSF and NPSA and involved in implementation of relevant guidance
