Job Summary

The Integration Developer is a key member of the Digital Data &Technology (DDaT) team, adding value for our patients through improving and developing digital services across the Trust and wider health and care system.

You will support the Integration Team in ensuring the Trust can safely integrate and make use of shared information and services, regardless of the systems in use, and who supplied them.

You will design, develop, implement and test secure interfaces using an integration engine applying best practice and coding standards to connect and facilitate the sharing of data between systems and applications aligned with the Trust’s vision and ensure that solutions can be maintained and updated by the wider DDaT integration team.Ensure that services are supported with consistent, professional and value adding expertise through digital interoperability and ensure the Trust gains the maximum benefits as a result.

You will work with REST API’s* and ensure all integrated solutions adhere to HL7 / FHIR* standards.

 

Main duties of the job

Deputising for the Integration Development Lead you will lead on strategic technical decisions in the absence of the Integration Architect, ensuring continuity in architectural direction.

Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the organization’s integration strategy, ensuring alignment with national NHS digital health initiatives. Collaborate with infrastructure and clinical systems teams to enhance system interoperability and improve patient care.

Design, document, and deploy integration solutions based on Trust tactical and strategic needs. This includes enhancing existing solutions and developing new proposals to meet operational and clinical requirements.

Collaborate closely with technical subject matter experts to ensure the digital infrastructure is extensible and reduces complexity wherever possible, optimizing long-term integration strategies.

Actively participate in senior management meetings, decision-making forums, and represent the integration team at formal committees, executive-level meetings, and technical governance boards.

Essential

  • At least 5 years of experience developing interfaces to EPR systems

Desirable

  • Oracle (Cerner) experience is desirable

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualifications in NHS interfacing standards such as HL7, FHIR

  • Degree in computer science or equal experience
