Laundry Technician: Sponsorship Available

Main duties of the job

The Laundry Technician (Mechanical/Electrical) will carry out with minimum supervision; maintenance, fault finding or repairs and installation work on all plant equipment.

They shall be responsible for maintenance of laundry process equipment and shall complete reactive and planned maintenance on complex, high value specialist engineering equipment.

The job holder will have knowledge of industrial equipment to enable efficient maintenance of this equipment as required along with experience of a working in a laundry or similar environment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • COSHH Regulations training

Desirable

  • Recognised time served apprenticeship or City & Guilds and HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Mechanical equivalent.
  • City & Guilds Inspection and Testing Certificate
  • Confined spaces certificate
  • Multi-skilling qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive post qualification experience in electrical or mechanical services

Desirable

  • Experience in working in an acute hospital environment.

Skills

Essential

  • Written and verbal communication skills to be able to liaise with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without supervision.

Desirable

  • Computer literate and keyboard skills
  • Capable of working in a demand driven service
