We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist who can inspire others to deliver outstanding patient centred care. You will be responsible for
- Leading and developing clinical pharmacy services to meet the needs of the emergency & integrated care (EIC) division.
- Providing senior leadership support to the specialist clinical pharmacists and across the EIC team.
- Implementing trust wide initiatives to improve the use, management and safety of medicines across the trust
- Deputizing for the Associate Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services and assisting in trust wide medicines optimisation work streams
Main duties of the job
1. Lead and be a role model for clinical pharmacy services to the clinical areas managed by Emergency and Integrated Care (EIC) Division, including Respiratory, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Care of the Elderly, Rheumatology, Emergency Medicine, ambulatory emergency care and acute medical unit patients.
2. Lead, provide and develop clinical pharmacy services to meet the needs of the EIC Division in accordance with objectives set by the Associate Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services in order to meet Trust objectives and the Clinical Governance Agenda
3. Lead by example in an agreed specialism e.g. cardiology or care of elderly ensuring a consistently high quality clinical pharmacy service is delivered to all areas of the EIC Division in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
4. Manage the clinical service provided by a team of pharmacists and technicians within the EIC Division.

Education and qualifications
Essential
- Vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification
- Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent training / experience
Desirable
- ICH GCP Training
- Royal Pharmaceutical Society membership
Experience
Essential
- Current experience as an advanced clinical pharmacist practitioner, able to demonstrate a high level of competency (e.g. equivalent to achieving ‘excellence’ in the majority of competencies within the Advanced Level Competency Framework
- Considerable demonstrable specialist experience in Medicine
- Variety of clinical practice in hospital setting to include Acute Medicine and Surgery rotations
- Experience in management of others
- Clinical audit to improve practice
